Who I am
I’m Mark Le Poidevin, and I run Mark Le Poidevin Photography, photographing dogs across Somerset and the South West. I’m responsible for the personal information you give me through this website or when you book a session.
My business address is 29 Broomfield Park, Stoke St Gregory, Taunton, TA3 6FE.
I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZC276419.
You can contact me about your information at studio@marklepoidevinphotography.co.uk or on 07404 434784.
What I collect
When you get in touch: your name, email address and anything you tell me in your message, such as details about your dog.
When you book: your name, contact details, your dog’s name and details, and the date and place of your session.
When you order wall art: your delivery address, if your order is posted or hand delivered.
Payments: you pay by card, Klarna or Clearpay through Squarespace, and my records show your name and the payment.
Your photos: photos of your dog, and of you if you join in, taken on your session.
When you visit this website: Squarespace records basic information about visits, such as pages viewed and the type of device. Optional cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.
How I use it
To reply to your enquiry and arrange a chat, because you’ve asked me to.
To run your session, reveal video, gallery and wall art orders, because that’s what you’ve booked.
To keep business and tax records, because the law requires it.
To show photos of your dog on my website and social media, because I have a legitimate interest in showing my work. You can say no.
To show any photo where you can be recognised, only with your consent. I always ask first.
To see how visitors use this website, only with your consent, through the cookie banner.
Who I share it with
I only share what’s needed with the services I use to run the business, and I never sell your information.
Squarespace, for this website, the contact form, visitor statistics, invoices and card payments
Google Workspace, for my email
Pixieset, for your online gallery
Digitalab, my lab, who make your wall art from your photos, and sometimes post it straight to you, in which case they also get your name and delivery address
Klarna, if you choose to pay with Klarna, which then uses your information under its own privacy notice
Clearpay, if you choose to pay with Clearpay, which then uses your information under its own privacy notice
Mettle, my business bank, which receives your payments, and FreeAgent, for my bookkeeping
WhatsApp, text messages and Microsoft Teams, for messages and video reveals, using whichever you’re happy with
Some of these companies are based outside the UK, such as Squarespace in the United States. Where they move information outside the UK, they say they protect it with the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking: 12 months, then I delete them.
Booking and payment records: at least 5 years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year, as HMRC requires.
Your photos and gallery: your online gallery stays live for 3 months. I keep your photo files for 2 years after your session, then delete them. Photos shown on my website or social media stay there until you ask me to take them down.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of your information, or ask me to correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, or stop using it. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. I’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site uses cookies. Some are needed for it to work, and others help me see how visitors use it, but only if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of the page.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
